City of Light

City of Light For many the French capital remains the embodiment of elegance and style. The City of Light owes much of its nocturnal splendour to Francois Jousse, a man who has spent his working life in the shadow of anonymity.

Modest and self-effacing Francois Jousse is responsible for illuminating many a Paris landmark including the famous Louvre, Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame cathedral. As he shows off his splendid and seductive city he explains "everyone associates the light of the city with the name of "City of Light". I'm very proud to have been part of this image." After close to half a century the creative glow is dimming for Francois Jousse. He has just retired but he leaves a legacy of spectacle and enlightenment.
