The Guerilla of the Green Land

The Guerilla of the Green Land Since 1949, in the heart of the Burmese jungle, the Karen have been at war with the Burmese military regime. Fighting for their freedom, the Karen hope that Western democracies will come to their aid.
The new head of the KNU (Karen National Union) guerrilla is Zipporah Sein. Forty years old, gentle and courageous, Sein is leading an interesting peaceful guerrilla warfare. The Karen don't want war but they must defend themselves with weapons, as they continue to fight against the oppression and violence of the Burmese army. 'We work for peace and we need the international community to support and recognise our struggle.'
