The 2011 Alexandria bombing was an attack on Coptic Christians in Alexandria, Egypt, on Saturday, 1 January 2011. 23 people died as a result of the attack and over 100 were injured. Carried out by the Gaza-based Army of Islam, this is not the only example of conflict between Muslims and Christians in the country.
