Nervous Frontiers The Arab Revolution is knocking at Israel's door. With the situation in its neighbouring countries intensifying, this increasingly tense and isolated country is looking at a future shrouded in uncertainty.
"Israel faces threats on several borders", argues Ariy Shalicar, a spokesman for the Israeli army. Since the revolution in Egypt, the south of the country has seen terrorist attackers entering the country through Egypt's Sinai Desert. The Northern border is also fearful as violence swells in Syria. "Assad could start a new war with Israel, which would relieve the pressure internally and also be in the interests of Hezbollah." Wary of ongoing weapons smuggling between Iran and Hamas along the Lebanese coast, the navy and army are on red alert since the recent release of hundreds of Hamas terrorists."We must be ready for anything", insists army commander, Hagar Cohen.
