Missouri Blowback

Missouri Blowback When unarmed black man Michael Brown was shot by a white police officer in Missouri, his death exploded a time bomb of violent racial unrest. This report explores the culture of oppression behind the chaos.
"Only certain people are allowed to live and only certain people are allowed to kill", says Philip Agnew of activist group Dream Defenders. According to locals it was only a matter of time before Missouri exploded in violence. "I feel like I'm always getting ready to be harassed", says a local black father. In a state divided into 91 different municipalities, each with its own police agency, you can cross eight jurisdictions in one three-mile stretch of road and be fined each time for the same broken tail light. "I don't think the people in the courts have a good understanding of the havoc that they're wreaking on people's lives", says a local lawyer.
