South African Police Dog Attack Disturbing leaked footage from 1998 showing a group of white South African police officers setting attack dogs loose on unsuspecting black detainees.
In 1998, four members of North-East Rand's police unit ordered their dogs to attack Mozambican immigrants as part of a "training exercise" and videotaped the results. The graphic scenes of the Mozambicans begging for the lives were subsequently leaked to the media exposing the institutional racism that persisted in post-Apartheid South Africa despite supposed racial reforms. Four of the offending police officers were jailed 3 years later.
