Vigilantes and South African troops fighting cattle thieves
To protect South African farmers the army has now been called in to patrol the mountainous South African-Lesotho border. Most farmers must now carry arms wherever they go and increasingly take the law into their own hands.
"These people need to be shot... If you see a Basotho at night, and he is stealing horses, you shoot!" It's not only white farmers who are coming under attack: many Zulus have also become victims of the war on farmers. "We have suffered a lot. So I must try by all means to protect my property."
