Until recently, women in South Africa were banned from becoming professional boxers. That rule may have been overturned but women boxers are still battling to be taken seriously.
In the townships and villages, female boxing is mushrooming. But most boxing trainers and officials still think that no matter how hard women try, they will never be as good as men. Others question if women should be allowed to fight. "Sponsors aren't interested in women bashing each other," explains a spokesman from Boxing South Africa.
