Towards NATO - Against Russia?
The coalition government in Ukraine reflects its cultural diversity. This idea of representation is a fair one, until an issue as divisive as NATO involvement arises, on which the country must act as one.
Heading west or staying east has the country at a crossroads. It is a careful balancing act: "We will obtain more but also may lose much more of the benefits from Russia and other countries outside of the EU." Many Ukranian houses are heated with Russian gas, and Russia still has political influence. The recent western movement faces disillusion with its results: "The hopes we had were destroyed by the politicians we supported."
