Sirens Of Baghdad

Sirens Of Baghdad For the first time, a foreign crew has followed fire fighters in Baghdad as they handle the aftermath of suicide bombings. They bear witness to the absurd violence that is still tearing the city apart.
"You see this bullet-hole? Look: there's another here, and another one there." Mohammed points to the numerous impacts puncturing his truck. "One day a car bomb exploded in a parking lot. The military warned us there could be another but we still went." Ideal targets, fire fighters like Mohammed face constant danger. With sectarian violence reaching new heights, Sunni and Shiite alike are forced to hide their true identity, which makes the job even riskier. "They will tell from my name that I am a Sunni", Assam chips in nervously. The phone rings. Thirty suicide bombers are in circulation. Sixty people already dead. Mohammed rushes to the scene but the chaos slows him down. Powerless to prevent the violence, the fire fighters of Baghdad can only pick up the pieces.
