Brisbane braces for flood crisis
"We thought it might have stabilised now we have seen torrential downpours of rain". In the streets people tread through the water to pile up sandbags protecting their belongings. "If we get a downpour of 1 to 2 hundred mm it could turn into a major disaster". Queensland is in a state of emergency, while Brisbane braces itself, other areas already badly affected are struggling to recover.
