Every day, seagulls feed plastic debris to their young thinking it is food and sea turtles across the world choke on balloons as they mistake these for jellyfish. The grim consequences of industrialization are undeniable. While marine life is suffocating, plastics are slowly replacing sand on beaches, as about 4.7 million tons of trash goes to the ocean each year. Experts are desperately looking for solutions that will put this growing crisis to an end.
