Dubai is swiftly becoming a rival to Silicon Valley. The UAE's largest city is now home to some of the world's most forward thinking start-ups, and entrepreneurs are flocking from around the globe.
"Whenever people hear the word Dubai they think of innovation, of the future", says Astrolabs manager Ahmad Abugosh. It is Dubai's desire to innovate that is drawing in fledgling companies. "We hope that because Dubai is moving so fast that we can bring our content into the universities and high school much faster", says Matthias Heim, of VR educational start-up, Labster.
