One innovator's dream changed his reality
Despite losing the use of his legs in a catastrophic accident, adventurer Christian Bagg’s skills as a machinist let him resume his outdoor lifestyle – aided by the advent of the 3D printer.
“I was in a big air competition and I landed the wrong end up in Banff”, says Bagg. “I knew instantly that I was paralyzed. I couldn't walk, I couldn't feel anything.” Yet only five years later, Bagg was already working on developing an all-terrain wheelchair so he could get back into the wilderness. The arrival of a 3D printer two years ago revolutionised his efforts, granting him a freedom he thought he might never regain.
