Living with Coronavirus

Meet those living with and dealing with the fallout from Coronavirus

Living with Coronavirus Life in rural Switzerland has become unrecognisable since the COVID-19 outbreak. While the vulnerable and bereaved suffer most, normal families too have seen their lives transform due to the virus.
Maude, a resident of Lausanne, is in mourning after the sudden loss of her mother to the coronavirus. “On Sunday night, I hear she’s got it. On Tuesday morning I don’t have my mommy any more.” Still in shock, she will never know how her mother contracted the virus, nor will she be able to arrange the funeral. "We just want to say goodbye, but it won't be as pretty as I would have liked." Fabien Abbet, a Valaisan living in Shanghai, urges people to follow government guidelines and stay at home as much as possible. Although the now relaxed quarantine measures in China were severe, he is adamant that they were worth it: “In most places, you have to show a QR code, it sounds like they are overdoing it, but it works.”
