The intrepid Iranian rappers making Hip-Hop despite a ban on non-traditional music

Hip-Hop in the Islamic Republic Despite the prohibition of non-traditional music in Iran, two prolific and media-savy Iranian hip-hop artists are risking everything to stay at the forefront of a surging countercultural movement.
"We know where the lines are drawn. We also know what would happen if we cross those lines", says rapper Saeed Deghan. Although illegal to sell or publish hip-hop music in Iran, together they are hustling to create a taboo-busting record label. "The future of hip-hop in Iran will have better artists, expressing new concerns and that becomes a tool,which lets them speak out", says fellow rapper Safir.
