Redemption Stories
Future hopes for former South African inmates
A film about two black prisoners who discuss their experiences in jail and their feelings about the future.
Thami Welcome spent 26 years in prison for armed robbery. "I used to specialise in robbing white people only", he says. "We used to target banks." David Marais spent over 8 years in prison for attempted murder. "How did I get involved in these crimes?" he asks himself. Now, both are free men, and looking to find a crime-free place for themselves in the world.
