The Other Frontier
Hamas, Hezbollah and the Israel-Palestine War
As war rages on in Gaza, more than 250,000 Palestinians living in Lebanon watch on from the north. This RTS doc investigates the attitudes of the people of Lebanon to the Israel-Palestine war.
"We're not afraid of war. We're ready for it. Given the chance, I will fight without hesitation" says a Hezbollah member at a procession for a fallen combatant in the city of Saïda. Some children as young as 10-years-old claim allegiance to Hamas and Hezbollah and are ready to join the fight. Lebanese Christians, however, remember the 2006 war that engulfed Lebanon and fear the same might happen again."All of Lebanon feels this tense situation in Southern Lebanon..." explains Samy Gmayel, leader of Kataeb, the Lebanese opposition right-wing Christian party."The Hezbollah militia is definitely a problem," he continues.
