Little Dreamers

Meet the girls navigating the refugee crisis

Little Dreamers More than 100 million people around the world are seeking refuge from war, famine and other horrors. Half are children. Meet four young Syrian refugee girls in Lebanon navigating the challenges of the refugee crisis.
“My wish is to just breathe the air in my homeland, and see loved ones… I can’t wish for anything more.” Faced with the total devastation of her home country, twelve year old Fatima Khaled El Loz dreams of simple freedoms. All four protagonists in Little Dreamers are traumatised, recounting horror stories of the assault on Syria, but all four possess bold aspirations which reflect how they aim to right the wrongs they were exposed to from a young age. From fifteen year old Nariman who dreams of gaining medical qualifications, to young Rana who “dream[s] of becoming a lawyer because I see many people losing their rights.” The girls turn to one another, forging beautiful friendships and finding uplifting company in their mutual devastation; “I lost all my friends in Syria. But now I have Rahaf. She compensates for all my losses.”
