Ignacio Jaunsolo - Director, Producer
Ignacio Jaunsolo is the founder of SKA films, a production company specialising in documentaries and fiction films. He holds a degree in Communication from the Catholic University of Uruguay. He began his career as Director of Photography and later worked as a Producer and Director. As Director of Photography he is known for documentaries Teros, Sueño Mundial (2015), Para Siempre Chape (2018), and Alexis Viera (2019). Previous Producer/ Director credits include Guatemala: Heart of the Mayan World (2019), Far From the Spotlight (2021), Rada (2024), In Fiction, Togo (2022), directed by Adrian Caetano.
In June 2018, the Fuego volcano erupted, without warning, in Guatemala. Villages and neighbourhoods in the surrounding areas were buried, and hundreds were killed, as many refused to believe in the true devastating force of nature. Filmed at the very heart of the fierce eruption, this doc shockingly records the phenomenon, and celebrates the heroic firefighters and rescue workers as they strive to protect their community.
