No Man's Land
The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel is about to engulf the region. Lebanon villages lie smoldering under bombshells, civilians pay the ultimate price, and tens of thousands have been driven from out their homes in exodus. On the northern border of Israel, Hezbollah rockets have hit many kibbutz, their population forced to seek refuge for months further south.

Hezbollah leaders have been eliminated and their HQ reduced to ashes. In south Beirut, entire streets are emptied of their inhabitants. Hezbollah are wary of journalists here, refusing to confirm victims' identities and controlling any footage shot. Thousands of people are fleeing Lebanon's cities every day, with nothing. One taxi driver recalls helping a mother he found alone with her small children. "She was barefoot, the children were crying. It broke my heart." Meanwhile, in the north of Israel, sirens can be heard all day, signalling attacks from Lebanon. "There was a siren. I ran to the shelter and there was a terrible boom", recalls one resident of a kibbutz near the border. At least 60,000 Israelis have fled their homes for the south. "It's time for war. Send the troops to Lebanon and bring everyone home. I have confidence in the Prime Minister", declares one resident who has remained behind.
