Endangered Tigers

One man fights to save the Siberian tiger

Endangered Tigers Only around 400 Siberian tigers are left in the wild, having survived the coldest winter in living memory and the constant threat of poachers. One man is determined to change their fate.
Viktor, a former zoology professor at Vladivostok University, now keeps a family of Siberian tigers in a five hectare enclosure behind his house, where he tries to make them feel at home; “They ate a live deer two days ago, I bought it especially for them. They must feel like tigers, not just walk around like cows”. The tigers were brought to Viktor as cubs after their mother was killed by poachers. He now wants to pass on his maturing animals to zoos to boost the genetic pool with his wild stock, but he is struggling to find any takers.
