Muslim Boxer Babes

The African female boxers defying convention

Muslim Boxer Babes For many young African women, boxing is a symbol of emancipation - but that hasn't stopped them taking to the ring.
We go to the first African Women`s Boxing Championship, and discover that for most of the girls, the battle started long before they stepped into the ring. Mayada Halal comes from a Muslim village in the Nile Delta. We investigate how she has had to defy the conservative Islamic communities in order to pursue her sport.
