Hospital
Since the collapse of government in 1990, Somalia has become a byword for anarchy. But two expat Somalis are determined to do all they can to help.
After 14 years in exile, Dr Aidarus Farrah is returning home. He's volunteered to spend a month treating patients at Bosaso hospital. "I'm Somalian. If I don't help, who will?" he reasons. Returning with him is fellow Somali Issa Farrah. Their help is desperately needed. "There are shortages of everything," complains the hospital director. "We need all the help we can get." Farrah's first patient is a 14 year old girl shot by a stray bullet six months ago. Her 5 year old sister was killed in the same attack. "She is broken! She can't get up!" despairs her mother. Thanks to Aidarus's help, her six months of agony are over. But there are hundreds of other patients with similar injuries. And it will take more than one doctor to treat all of them.
