Coastal erosion is changing the landscape of Lake Michigan
At Indiana Dunes National Park by Lake Michigan, the effects of climate change are visible along the eroding shoreline.
Indiana Dunes National Park's future is uncertain: 'the lake level changed five feet in five years', reports park superintendent Paul Labovitz. Artificial beaches have been built to maintain the coastline and he hopes the urgency of 'climate change could actually play a role in stopping further construction along the lakefront'.
