Left Behind In Europe's poorest country, Moldova, up to 30,000 children have been abandoned as their parents emigrate to Europe to find work.

The money pays for bills, animal fodder and school supplies. In a school lesson, a third of the class stand when asked whose parents live abroad. Most abandoned children live with their relatives or friends. But many also end up in underfunded orphanages.
