Jewish Revival
Jewish communities flourish in post-war Warsaw
Despite being the focus of the world''s conscience after Auschwitz, some parts of the country still harbour anti-Semitic views. Rabbi Michael Schudrich has been entrusted with imparting his knowledge to this fledgling Jewish community, as well as encouraging tolerance and understanding throughout wider society. In Warsaw''s new Jewish primary school these worries are certainly not apparent as 92 little 'ambassadors' recite Hebrew songs with youthful vigour. Sombre stone memorials dominate the landscape, but there''s a spirit of renewal emanating from this tragic past.
