Alex Holmes began his career producing TV investigations. He won two Royal Television society awards on current affairs show World in Action, then Alex joined the BBC in 1998 where he established a new investigative program making unit. In 2000 he became a Creative Director in the BBC Documentaries and Investigations department. Alex then returned to his first passion, directing. He wrote and directed 'Dunkirk', a three part World War II mini series for the BBC, which won Alex his first BAFTA as a director. After which he co-wrote and directed the drama 'House of Saddam' for HBO and BBC, set in the inner circle of Saddam Hussein, which earned him several BAFTA and EMMY nominations and won the Grierson Drama Documentary Award in 2009.
