Women take to kickboxing in Thailand
Women are now getting top billing in one of Thailand's most popular, fiercely competitive, and brutal sports --kickboxing.
We follow one thirty year-old mother of two as she trains diligently for an upcoming fight. Under the supervision of her boxing-fanatic mother, who was never allowed to box herself, she demonstrates the fact that traditional views of women are changing almost everywhere. "I've liked it since I was young," she smiles. Although she did not win this match against a much younger and swifter competitor, she proved that she would be serious competition against any man. In fact, since the ring has been open to women for only a year now, it has become much more common to see women kickboxing competitions as the main event. Men play the opening match, and the stakes for betting on women are much higher.
