Making The Film

I
Directing this film on the hunt for the origins of time has been a six-year journey across three continents. We faced extreme conditions, battling freezing temperatures and altitudes of up to 5,200 meters while relying on supplemental oxygen to capture the breathtaking Atacama landscapes and the groundbreaking telescopes. My goal was to immerse viewers in the rich tapestry of local indigenous culture, creating a lyrical parallel to the scientific pursuit of building these telescopes and the human stories behind them. Using a cinéma vérité approach, we filmed leading astrophysicists, including the late Jim Simons, who had never before agreed to be filmed. This project represents one of the greatest scientific quests of our time, with the potential to unlock multiple Nobel Prizes - Debra Kellner
