Farming subsidies in Europe and America are driving small farms in the developing world to bankruptcy. Surplus products from Europe are dumped on the African market, flooded out local products.
"We receive nothing from our state", complains Senegalese farmer Ndiogou Fall. "If I have to compete with Europe, it will kill my farm". Campaigns like 'Africa can Feed Itself' call on governments to adopt protectionist policies which will safeguard local agriculture.
