Going Nowhere With one in three Iraqis in need of emergency aid, many families are being sustained by free charity meals. One of the hardest hit groups is Iraqi Christians, targeted by both Sunnis and Shias.
In the slums of Damascus, hundreds of Iraqi refugees queue up for free meals. "We feed 1,600 people every week", states a nun. Under Saddam, Iraqi Christians made up the educated Middle class. Today, half Iraq's Christian population has been forced into exile. "They kidnapped my daughter because my husband is an infidel", states one woman. "Our lives are over".
