St George's Church
Worshippers of St George have a novel way of venerating him. They rub themselves with the chains that once held their martyr. Uniquely, the faithful are both Christians and Muslims.
Locals in Bethlehem are proud that St George was a Palestinian. They call him Al Khader and regularly pray at his church. "We love Al Khader deeply", states one woman. Belief in the saint helps unite local Muslims and Christians.
