Israel's Neo Nazis

Israel's Neo Nazis A series of Neo-Nazi gang attacks has rocked the Jewish State. Nazi gang Patrol 36 greet each other with the Nazi Salute, target synagogues and wear Swastika tattoos. They are also Jewish.
The day news broke of Neo Nazi attacks in Israel the mood was of disbelief. 'It was like a stab in my stomach', says Parliamentary Minister Collette Avital. 'It is like going back in history. How is this possible?' It is a question that many Israelis are asking. 'Did we do enough to integrate immigrants?' Avital asks. Nazi gang members were young immigrants from Russia and Ukraine. To move to Israel all they needed was one Jewish grandparent. But there were strong economic reasons for leaving Russia, and many immigrants felt no connection to Judaism. Teenager Ivan Kuzmin was one of the first members of Patrol 36. 'In Russia they called me Dirty Jew', he says, 'and here they called me Stinking Russian'. Kuzmin says that the racism he experienced turned him into a racist. 'Only once everyone in this country understands there is no place for any kind of ethnic hatred will these things stop'.
