Each weekend, thousands of people flock to Minto Park in Lahore. The park is only designed for 3 pitches but hundreds of cricket matches fill the ground. Despite the recent attack on the visiting Sri Lankan team, the enthusiasm here is irrepressible. '"I can't imagine Pakistan without cricket,"' says rising cricket star Waleed. 'Pakistan will be without politics but not without cricket.' Former test cricket player Mohammed Ilyas hopes that he''s right. "'There is nothing like playing at home, ...it was the greatest honour.'" As Pakistan''s dream of hosting the next World Cup lies in tatters, the Lahori people hope for when their young cricketers will be able to play at home again.
