Finders Keepers

A story about fame, addiction and a custody battle over a man's leg

Finders Keepers A man loses his leg in an accident. Another man accidentally buys it at a North Carolina auction. The story only gets stranger from there. This is a rare, truly laugh-out-loud doc. An expertly crafted narrative gets under the skin of lives that are forever changed when a crazy small-town feud becomes a national media circus. The result is both hilarious and tragic. An astonishing, stranger-than-fiction tale of greed, ego and redemption.

Making The Film

"In traveling to North Carolina and meeting the outlandish characters we'd seen hollering on CNN, we soon realized how much more lay beneath the surface of this 15-minutes-of-fame occurrence. After befriending these characters, we quickly discovered them to be very real people with hopes, dreams and hurts. We've joked that Finders Keepers needs to be a series to truly get to the bottom of this labyrinthine tale of tragedies, good fortunes and generations-deep grievances."
