Hotel 22
Each night in Silicon Valley, the region's homeless use a 24-hour bus as an unofficial shelter. This Sundance short captures one dramatic night on the Line 22 bus route, otherwise known as "Hotel 22".
"How about a little heat", a homeless passenger shouts at the driver. "We pay the fare man, we need some heat on here." For over a decade, in what is one of the richest parts of the world, people have been using the overnight 22 bus as an alternative to sleeping on the streets. "Hotel 22" has become a confronting testament to the challenges of an increasingly unaffordable landscape.
