Philip Hamilton – Director

Philip Hamilton, filmmaker, photographer, producer and author.

He is founder and director of Ocean Souls Films Ltd, a UK based production company, focused on producing conservation documentaries and also a director of US based 501 (c)(3) non-profit organisation, Wildlife Media.

Philip's work has been featured on TV and in books as well as being quoted in several titles including The Times, GQ Magazine, The Economist, CNN and The Guardian. His conservation projects have also been presented on BBC Earth, at the United Nations as well as having generated multimillion views on social media.

His first film Ocean Souls (2020) won 17 international film awards. It is an unprecedented collaboration of over 100 filmmakers, 25 scientists as well as several leading experts, about the wonderful cetacean family.

Philip has also produced the powerful feature film Collision (2022), an impactful documentary about vessel collisions with whales and what can be done to prevent these fatalities caused by increasing shipping traffic. The film was screened at UNESCO HQ in Paris as well as the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Also in 2023, feature film RED A sea worth protecting (2023) was completed. This film focuses on the IUCN Red List and highlights the efforts of scientists and conservationists in the Red Sea to save a variety of endangered species including the Dugong, turtles and sharks.
