Foreign fishing fleets stole their lobsters, which drove them to desperation. This is the reason given by poor Somali fishermen who turned into gun-toting pirates mugging giant ships for millions of dollars.
Somalia currently faces a double threat: terrorism and climate change. The decades-long conflict with the terrorist group al-Shabaab, together with the worst drought in Somalia's history, has driven millions from their homes. But hope remains.
