A Taste of Little Italy
Baltimore's zestful Italian Quarter
This lively feature looks at how Little Italy in Baltimore has evolved from poor Sicilian enclave to thriving commercial district.
Progress has created social tensions, such as when one entrepreneur decided a huge brick wall would make an ideal billboard. The furious Residents Association forced him to paint over it. Then a bright spark decided it would make an ideal movie screen. The Little Italy Film festival was born and Baltimore has not looked back.
