The ritual of spirit worship has continued to strengthen in Thailand despite being practised for centuries.
Spirit houses are placed outside public buildings, businesses and private homes to provide a shelter for the spirits. Daily offerings of flowers, incense and food are made to keep the spirits in good humour.
