South Africa - The Art of Healing

South Africa - The Art of Healing Using embroidery, beading and photography, South African villagers have given their AIDS-affected communities new life. As well as raising money for treatment, their art provides 'meaning for life.'
Together with the Keiskamma Trust, the women of Hamburg, Natal, are making a real difference. Funds raised from their impressive tapestries provide treatment and aftercare for AIDS sufferers. Carol Hofmeyr runs the Trust on two principles: 'make their bodies better and give their lives meaning through art.' 'We have saved a lot of people's lives,' says a South-African grandmother: 'it has saved my children's lives as well.'
