The Rwandan genocide left half a million dead and millions more homeless. The government-backed Hutu tribe began the systematic extermination of the minority Tutsis, after the assassination of the president. Now, the Rwandan Patriotic Front is promising to restore peace and bring democracy to this shattered country, and to oust the government from its seat of power.
